Assistant Dive Coach
We're looking for a dynamic and adaptable coach to assist across all levels of our program: from Learn-to-Dive and Futures, to Junior Olympic, Collegiate Prep, and Masters.
The right candidate will be comfortable teaching beginners, challenging developing athletes, supporting high-performance divers and working administrative tasks as assigned. Must be confident leading practice groups, communicating with families, and contributing to a positive and driven team culture. This is a hands-on coaching position with lots of opportunity for growth and expansion of hours.
Rose Bowl Diving is a large USA Diving and AAU team located in Pasadena, CA. Our primary training site is the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center though we travel locally to additional training sites for tower practice. Our facilities include 4 x 1M and 4 x 3M springboards (mixed on concrete and on stands) and a belted trampoline area. We are in the process of rebuilding our second dryland space with spotting belts and dryboards (x3). We are also in the process of rebuilding our full tower stack. The program includes over 90 divers ranging from first-time athletes to Junior National Qualifiers and Masters World competitors.
Working hours include weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends. Private lessons, meet travel, and additional hours available. Expectation to attend meets regularly (Sept thru July) and support training during some holiday and summer breaks.
Pay: $25 - $28/hour at ~25 hours per week (with the opportunity for more hours likely available for the right candidate)
All travel time and mileage incurred for meet attendance and offsite practices will be compensated in accordance with California labor laws.
Tentative Work Schedule:
Monday - Thursday: 3:00 - 6:30 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Sunday: TBD based on group needs
Estimated annual earnings based on ~25 hours/week: $32,500 - $36,400 (actual earnings will vary based on final schedule and additional hours). Additional income will be available through private lessons and office hours.
Relocation: Available for the right candidate.
Start Date: position open immediately

This is a non-exempt position eligible for overtime, rest breaks, and applicable labor protections under California law. Travel between practice locations or to competitions is considered paid time. Mileage reimbursement is provided when personal transportation is used for work-related travel.
